Dayton International Airport Multi-Level Parking Structure - Dayton, Ohio
Construction began April 2009 on this $35 million project. Our main contact was Mr. Ken Pagett (614-847-1800) the Senior Project Manager for Barton Malow who was serving as the Construction Manager for the owner. The project consisted of a three level 360,000 square foot post-tensioned parking structure. This project required testing for each building component including over 1500 Geopier observations, soils field density testing, significant reinforcing steel observations, plastic concrete testing, concrete compressive strength testing, post-tension cable measurements, structural steel field testing, fireproofing and masonry testing. The owner on this project not only expected but was also required by outside regulations to have a high quality project. Specialty testing on this project included quick turn-around of early compressive strength testing for 5,000 psi concrete as well as hardened shrinkage testing and the presence of corrosion inhibitor testing. Over 4,500 loads of concrete were tested through the course of the project.
